NAMI acquires all Russian assets of Nissan including St Pete plant
MOSCOW, Nov 24 (PRIME) -- The Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engines Institute (NAMI) has acquired all Russia-based assets of car company Nissan, including a plant in St. Petersburg, the deal is officially closed, NAMI said in a statement on Thursday.
“The Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engines Institute NAMI and group of companies Nissan have signed a deal on acquiring the assets of Nissan Manufacturing Rus. As a result, 100% of Nissan’s assets in Russia… were transferred to the Russian state ownership embodied by NAMI,” the statement read.
“The assets include production and research facilities of Nissan in St. Petersburg and a sales and marketing center in Moscow. The closure of the deal will allow saving the facilities’ key competences, the production cycle and the jobs,” it also read.
